Once upon a time, a great many years ago, butterflies didn’t have wings. They would crawl on the ground as a caterpillar their whole lives, being happy, fuzzy and green, mingling with the rollie pollies and the earthworms, never knowing what they were missing.

 

       One day, a beautiful, tiny, winged, fairy came to the garden where a family of caterpillars lived. She was lost and sad because she missed her home. The caterpillars were fascinated by the beautiful fairy and her magical wings, but they were also sad for her and wanted to help her find her way back home.
